Elite Hospice in Springdale, Ark., recently had the honor of providing end-of-life care for their own CNA’s father. He was diagnosed with advanced cancer that progressed very quickly. To put it mildly, he was a motorcycle guy and his final wish was to ride one more time in a local motorcycle rally, “Bikes, Blues and BBQ.”

Melissa Henson, RN, Britteny Bocchetti, RN, Angie Bradford, ED, Tanner Smith, aide, and
Katy Acridge, MSW, all went into action to make this special event happen. The Springdale team made sure that a hospice staff member was with him during the entire event, and that necessary medical equipment was delivered and available for the day. They even arranged for a ramp to be built to accommodate his wheelchair for the event. His final ride was a success! He went home very tired, but with a full heart and many new memories.
